Koperattiva Kulturali Universitarja (KKU)

Koperattiva Kulturali Universitarja (KKU) was founded in 1996 to provide an infrastructure to help students and others both from University and outside express their creativity in cost effective ways.
 

KKU presents Evening on Campus.  This summer festival of experimental theatre, film, and music, highlights student
and ex-student talent. This festival has grown in popularity and is now an important event in the national cultural calendar.
 

The Koperattiva is working on a festival of original works by Maltese playwrights and musicians. This mediterranean Festival which will take place at historical sites around the island, and is aimed at an international audience.
 

KKU has an international network of contacts and has already enabled innovative productions to be presented abroad.

KKU has already staged an Opera as demanding as The Maltese Cross, with libretto by Peter Serracino Inglott, music by Charles Camilleri and with the artistic direction of Wolfram Mehring.  An abridged version of this opera is planned for next year.

Most of the senior members of the Koperattiva are leading figures on the local cultural scene and they are eager to help to develop the talents of junior members.
